Our Second Christmas Without Owen…

It’s hard to believe 21 months have been gone,

Since our Dearest of Owen has left our warm home.

What did we do wrong, was I not a good dad,

The “Why’s” and “What If’s,” it kept us so sad.

But something inside says that this must be right,

God has a plan and guess if I might.

I believe he was given to us for 8 years,

Then back to his Home and fill us with tears.

But the tears that we feel are tears of our blessings,

Cause Owen is fine, it is us we’re a mess in.

He did not leave us because of our wrongs,

He was given to us to fill us with songs.

He came down from Heaven to fill us with Joy,

But had to go back cause he was that good of a boy.

I think he has stuff that he really needs to do,

He’s must be helping Jesus take care of His room.

There are kids coming Home that are scared, some are 7,

But Owen bends down and says, “Hi, welcome to Heaven.”

He greets kids everyday, last week more than twenty,

He greets everyday, from the world there is plenty.

It warms my heart deeply, that this be his job,

To be God’s little helper my “O”, I’m so proud.

So your 2nd Christmas in Heaven, I bet you’re the vet,

Being warm, kind and gentle; the best Owen yet.

I know that you miss us, cause we surely miss you,

But I know you’re OK, I hope the girls think so too.

You still have your spot underneath our big tree,

But I can’t even imagine the sights that you see.

Where you are must have the things that you like,

Lego’s and Nerf Guns, a Wii and a bike.

It has to be great to be where you are,

I look forward to seeing you, but hopefully 30 years far.

I got things to do here and some girls I will raise,

And it’s Christmas tomorrow, your Friend’s Birthday I’ll praise.

I bet Jesus is proud of the things that you do,

Cause Him and His Dad took you Home way too soon.

I know that you know that we will be fine,

But sneak back to say “hi” at some point in time.

Tell Jesus that we will celebrate His very special day,

But see if he can give us a hint of the way.

You know that we love you, you know that is true,

Enjoy your Christmas, the 2nd Party in Heaven for Jesus with you.

~Daddy

My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
with tiny lights like heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow,
the sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
for I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
but the sounds of music can't compare with the
Christmas Choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
for it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me.  I see the pain inside your heart,
but I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones, you know I hold you dear,
and be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift from my heavenly home above,
I send you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is the gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other,
as my Father said to do,
for I can't count the blessings
or love He has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas
and wipe away that tear,
remember that I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

Owen celebrated his 9th Birthday in Heaven!

Happy Birthday!

We miss you...we love you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Owen’s 1st Birthday in Heaven

My little boy should be turning 9 tomorrow,
instead my heart is full of sorrow.
Everyone says that time will heal, but that is not how I feel.
...
Owen was the “best Owen ever” and I will miss him forever.
My heart is broken and all I know is the quietness of the house below.
Owen was so special, full of kindness and compassion.
I’m so proud of the boy I knew, and how he put others first.
He is in Heaven now and is content, but still I long for his presence.
I pray that Owen helps heal our hearts and that he keeps watch over us.
Someday my sadness and pain will disappear as we greet each other way up there!
My little boy should be turning 9 tomorrow,
instead my heart is full of sorrow.

Thank you to all our friends and family that have helped us through these most trying of times.  The Holidays were a lonely time without our Owen and his Birthday was extremely painful.

We celebrated his birthday by having dinner at one of his favorite restaurants, Cross Roads Cafe in Grantville, PA.  He would have had pizza and the chocolate mousse dessert.

As we journey on without him we look forward to having you meet our Little Saint and see what made him so special to us and others.  Hopefully the pictures, videos and stories that we will post can give you an idea how a young man's short, 8-year span on earth impacted and touched so many lives during his precious time here.

Please keep checking back as we slowly travel through our "New Normal" of a life while we continue to have the Spirit of our Saint Owen give us the strength to carry on!

Happy Birthday Owen

Of all the days throughout the year, this one is the most bittersweet,

Hardest to get through - for those that loved you, a day that will be left incomplete.

There will be no gathering of little kids, to sing to you and eat lots of food,

Everyone will move quietly, deep in thought, in a much more somber mood.

Yet this is the day your journey began, a day marked with victory,

For this is the day when you joined us here, a baby as sweet as can be.

A day to celebrate your innocent life, full of love and laughter and play,

And trains and baseball and the color orange, that would make your perfect day.

So many memories, some old and some new, that have now become like gold,

We sift through them all as we remember your life, from birth through eight years old.

We remember your sweetness, the way that you always helped other children in need,

And knowing what we now all know, wonder if this was your calling indeed?

An Angel who came down to bring bright sunshine to all you touched, old and young,

To help other children, teach kindness by example, and give lots of smiles and hugs.

And when God called you home, he did so in a way that will allow your message to thrive,

You touched even more folks who now know that "Orange 4 Owen" means "let's save lives".

We will never be able to count the lives saved, or measure the impact of your beautiful life,

Your legacy will go on, your message will spread, and some drivers will start to think twice.

We will never forget O and his orange, the memories are locked in our hearts,

We'll remember that our end was a beginning for you, as your eternal and graceful life starts.

So Happy Birthday to you, Owen, our love.

We honor your life on this date.

And we know that the other Angels, up above,

Will be there to celebrate.

Love always,

Ani and Ramona

Mother's Day

from a Mom to Karen

"For all of you mom's who lost one that you love,
please be assured they are way up above.
They look upon you and thank the dear Lord,
that you were their MOM and that's the good word.
You gave them the life that you held so dear,
but it was God's calling that called them so near,
To the throne of His love and the hands of his Grace,
they have seen him before you and honored his Grace.
They miss you each day but be certain for sure,
they are with you each day be you rich or be poor.
Their lives had been short but impact it made,
and He will connect you one of these days.
The memory you have of your lovey so dear,
will never be far but will always be near.
I wish you all love and happiness true,
and may God bless your family,
your loved one,
and YOU!
Happy Mother's Day to those who might mourn,
but relish in the memory of the day they were born!
God gave them to you for just a short while,
and I know and HE knows they sit with Him and smile.
For your life is their life, and your love is their love.
One day we will see them when reach up above!"
